Back in the US
InterInnov's Innovation Manager Jose Gonzalez will participate next February as a speaker in two significant events of the US Smart Cities domain. The events are organised by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Washington D.C. The first one is the Global City Teams Challenge (GCTC) 1028 kick-off conference (February 6-7), and the second one the IES-City Framework Release Workshop (February 8). InterInnov will officially represent the FIWARE community as a leading partner in FIWARE Mundus -the initiative that aims at the expansion of FIWARE at global scale-, and in its role of coordinator for FIWARE's engagement in North America.
The kick-off conference of the Global City Teams Challenge (GCTC) 2018 will bring together hundreds of municipal governments and technology innovators around Smart and Secure Cities and Communities (SC3). The goal is to encourage Smart City and Internet of Things (IoT) stakeholders to build teams to address shared issues in various sectors such as transportation, public safety, agriculture and data governance/exchange while adding an additional focus on security and privacy.
The IoT-Enabled Smart City Framework (IES-City Framework) Workshop will follow the GCTC-SC3 conference to present in a one-day session the results of this initiative. The partners involved, including NIST, ANSI, ETSI and FIWARE, participate in this international working group to compare and distill from scattered architectural efforts and city stakeholders a consensus framework of common architectural features.
